BACKGROUND
Personality} A heart as gold as his coat. Storm is a noble, trustworthy, and honest soul, with very proud blood. He will take care of his handler and give his all in competition. He’s just about everything a Nordanner is bred to be, but with a bit of his own personality. He doesn’t take any non-sense from other horses, and will stand his ground in a herd situation, but he’s not one to fight, or fight for leadership. He can sometimes be stubborn if he thinks he’s right, but most times he’s very patient and extremely quick to learn.
History} Storm was born during the night when temperatures had dropped far below expected. Adult horses had no issue with the cold, but it was no place for a wet newborn. His mother licked him furiously, trying to dry him but despite her good efforts the colt would catch a chill by morning.
He wasn’t expected to be delivered at evening, and the staff at his stud went into a frenzy to get him into an open stall. His mother looked ill with worry, keeping her little colt in her sights. The palomino colt, not known by a name yet, hadn’t put much effort into perfecting walking, and hid himself as far as possible into a sickly little ball in the corner of the stall. His skin was cool to the touch, and grooms spent the next few days with the colt, watching the heater provided for him and the temperature of the foal. They force fed him, shoving medication down his throat as he would not willingly accept. With each dose he grew more and more agitated with the process, but also began to show more life and fight. The beginning of his illness seemed grim, but as two week’s time slid by, the colt was standing next to his mother, eagerly suckling the warm milk from her. The two stood together in absolute content. Mother and foal still had several weeks of quarantine, but since that week of illness Storm developed his dislike of oral medication.
This, however, did not hinder his massive growth. And once he was of age, he was turned over to his new home and owner of his breeding: Chronicles of a Hero.
